@@BarekHalfhand I'm am dead serious. I'm a jazz bassist and i know how to produce at a basic level. Henry rollins couldn't sing a note to save his life if you asked him to. Go ahead and try and find a video on him discussing music theory, composition or anything actually musical. Lets not even talk about the instrumentation of black flag being pretty much just power chords that any 12 year old could learn in 15 mins. If you slapped henry infront of Ableton he would look at it like hes trying to solve a theoretical physics question. Same goes for you. Go ahead and google image what Ableton looks like.

Just because you dont like it does not make it not "real" music lmao. Au5 is actually master class from a sound design, and compositional standpoint. and ive also been saying for years, you're not going to find anyone sober listening to this music. they're on alcohol, at the very least. electronic/rave = hippie movement repackaged. its all about doing drugs, and opening up gateways for demons to possess you. which is why again.. its literally the hippie movement.. repackaged. look at their festivals and the symbolism.. they even brought back yoga, which was popularized in the 70s.. because its hindu prayer positions, aka satanism.

  • @465marko

When was this actually recorded? Here's the real truth, imo: Electronic music is great and as valid as any other genre. What he's reacting to here imo, is DJ-worship. Now, that definitely *was* and probably still is a thing. DJ's are cool, but ffs their bread and butter is playing and mixing records. And that's cool, but to the outside observer, they are often revered a little too much. He comes across a little ignorant though, writing off entire genres just because they're electronic. I was like that when I was 14, but you grow out of it. He's kind of right about the drugs - some of that music is so intertwined with mainly MDMA but I guess other drugs too, it's impossible to separate. Reggae and ganga is about the only other example I can think of. Which kinda leaves it open to criticism because if drugs enhance the music so much, maybe it's not that great to begin with. Doesn't mean that's true, it just goes really, really well with some drugs. lol.

Henry, my friend, we didn't need a drummer we had the Roland 808. Also for the record I produced all my own music, I sampled more from TV and Movies than I ever did other musicians. I play cello, Contra as well as electric bass guitar, electric or acoustic guitar, synth, piano and the drums. Regardless, how is remixing music NO ONE listens to any more and crap bands playing covers better? Stop fucking acting like ALL DJ's are talentless thieves of other peoples music. Sorry but I had a much higher class of ladies to "fuck on the floor" after a gig than you EVER did after a Black Flag or Rollins Band show! I sample a 30 second bass riff from an Afrika Bambaataa song from 1982 and I'm a thief of music, a record player player but you and Bad Brains covering the MC5 or your Rollins Band covering Zepplin's four sticks it's "legit" in your world, fucking hypocrite! I would spend weeks in the studio sampling dozens of instruments looking for the sound I wanted for a track, everything from a digeridoo to a clarinet, an oboe, or a bassoon, timpani, snare drum, bass drum, xylophone, glockenspiel! F^^k you and your implied right to gatekeep what is and isn't legitimate music or musician!

This meathead couldn't learn turntablism in the rest of his life. He's a sanctimonious old þr1ck. Great music but he's a closed-minded cnut with a superiority complex who apparently has a very blinkered view when it comes to art. Black Flag were sick but that's probably because Greg wrote most of the tracks. Also he was a dick to Nardwuar which is a dead giveaway that he's a humourless tuss. He comes across like Doomguy accidentally took a bunch of oestrogen with his steroids.
